This type of visa permits you to visit Australia for business or business visitor activities. The business includes holidays, recreation and seeing family or friends. Visitor Visa (Subclass 600)

This Particular Class of Visa offers you an opportunity to visit for business purposes for up to three, six or twelve months.

Two of their subclasses are:

  • The visitor (subclass 651) : This visa is You want to be a passport holder of a definite country as laid out in an inventory issued by the Department of Home Affairs.

Conditions & features

  • You can have Multiple entries
  • Stay up to 12 months
  • Maximum 3 months study (while in Australia, you must not engage in any studies or training for more than 3 months)
  • You might grant you a stay of 3, 6 or 12 months
  • You can visit friends and family, be a tourist, cruise, have a holiday or for purposes other than business or medical treatment
  • You must be outside Australia when you apply and when we decide your visa
  • From 21 February 2022, all visa holders who are fully vaccinated for international travel purposes can travel to Australia without a travel exemption. Unvaccinated visa holders will still need to be in an exempt category or hold an individual travel exemption to enter
  • No further stay (While you are in Australia on this visa, you are unable to make a valid visa application for any new substantive visa other than a protection visa)
  • Must leave before visa expiry (You must leave Australia before visa expiry means, the holder of visa must not remain in Australia after the end of the period of stay permitted by the visa)

  • You must have and maintain adequate health insurance for the whole of your stay in
  • Have enough money for your stay in Australia
  • You must be outside Australia when you apply and when we decide your visa
  • You must not work in Australia. This means when in Australia, you must not do work that a person would normally get paid You can only work if it is related to your course of study or training, on the other hand, one condition is that, you cannot perform work in Australia that an Australian citizen or permanent resident could do but can do unpaid work relating and credited to your study if you are studying in a university outside Australia. To seek permission, submit a letter about your situation with your visa application and supporting documentation. If your situation changes after you arrive in Australia and you need to work you will need to apply for a new Visitor visa (Tourist stream) requesting permission to work.

You will need to prove:

  • You have financial hardship because of your new situation
  • You or your family member is likely to need the government’s help
  • You have compelling personal reasons to work in Australia such as a serious accident or illness
  • For reasons that you cannot change, you or your immediate family cannot return home
  • You have no choice but to work in Australia

  • Do short-term domestic or care-giving work for a family member

Electronic Travel Authority (Subclass 601)

Conditions & features

  • Visit Australia as often as you wish in a 12-month Stay up to 3 months each time you enter Australia
  • Stay up to 3 months at a time
  • Cost: There is no Visa Application Charge (VAC). There may be an application service charge of AUD20
  • With this visa (you can visit family or friends, cruise, have a holiday or undertake some business visitor activities
  • You must apply from outside Australia
  • Have an eligible passport
  • Limited activities (The holder must not work in Australia other than by engaging in a business visitor activity)
  • Maximum 3 months study (while in Australia, you must not engage in any studies or training for more than 3 months)
  • You must be free from Tuberculosis when you travel to and enter
  • Have no criminal convictions which sentence is 12 months or more (you must not have any criminal convictions for which the sentences total 12 months or more, whether or not you have served the sentences)

eVisitor (Subclass 651)

Conditions & features

  • Stay up to 3 months at a time
  • Cost: Free
  • Visit Australia to visit family or friends, cruise, have a holiday or undertake business visitor activities
  • You can study or train for up to 3 months in some circumstances (You can study or train for up to 3 months in total on this visa. But if your main reason for travelling to Australia is study, a student visa might be more appropriate)
  • You can apply from outside Australia
  • You must hold a passport from a particular country
  • Applicants who are seeking to train at a childcare centre, study to be a doctor, dentist, nurse or paramedic or enter health care or hospital environments should apply for the Visitor (subclass 600) visa and complete the relevant health checks
  • You will need a visa if you enter Australia during a cruise
  • As a business visitor (you can make general business or employment enquiries, investigate, negotiate, enter into or review a business contract, conduct activities as part of an official government visit, take part in a conference, trade fair or The organizers can’t pay you to take part)

Student visa (Subclass 500)
